Targeted skill sets include reading, listening, real-world conversation, composition and academic writing, vocabulary development, and pronunciation. Students are advanced/elite, and strive for high proficiency for admission into American, British, or top Korean universities. · Prepare high-school students for English portion of Korean National exam and TOEFL exam using TOEFLiBT. · Create individual lesson plans to cater to specific needs and goals of students within a communicative competence theoretical framework. Young-learner lesson plans include dynamic, interactive, and fun games and memorization techniques that engage students. Advanced lesson plans include oral debate and writing lessons that foster critical thinking and advanced language use. · Work collaboratively with English and Korean teachers to execute effective strategies for language acquisition, student satisfaction, and skill assessment. · Grade midterm, final, and placement exams (listening, speaking, reading comprehension, composition, and grammar), and assess video recordings of student performance. · Conduct assessments at the start of each term for appropriate student placement level. · Build rapport and discipline students as necessary based on age, academy, and Korean standards and expectations. · Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings. · Serve as primary English native speaker to co-write and edit EFL textbook with Korean teaching team.
