Employment details: September, 2015 - present. Guangrao Number One Middle School. I am still currently employed by Shanjiao International who have assigned me to teach a group of International students oral English, academic English, science and social studies. Also, every Friday, I teach two extra classes; a sizeable, grade eleven, oral English class, and small class of junior students. Apart from speaking, listening, reading and writing lessons, my international students are also given regular in and out of class assignments, homework sheets with detailed instructions, and regular tests; all of which are designed to aid retention whilst developing key skills such as critical thinking and teamwork. I also strive to make my listening lessons as practical and speach based as possible. For example I have strong students read science experiment procedures so that their classmates can follow the instructions. September, 2014 - August, 2015. Changyi Number One Middle School. I worked as a social studies, ESL, and academic English, teacher. I taught my students two different kinds of lesson: 1. fundamental principles of oral English such as register, word families and phoneamic awareness for apeaking and listening; 2. academic language and skills. The second lesson type covers social studies, reading, academic vocabulary, writing, speaking and listening. September, 2013 - July, 2014. Yibin Number Three Middle school (Ranked number one in Yibin). I delivered assignment based business English classes to the international class students. Their assignments included a report, an essay, a customer letter of complaint, a business letter of adjustment and several power point prensentations. The students were first given input about the subject area, then assignment specific support such as frame works and templates. Once suitably prepared, they were guided through several drafts before their final final submissions. September, 2012 - July, 2013 Liuzhou Number One High School. As an ESL teacher employed by AEF China the lessons that I planned and delivered included grammar, speaking and listening lessons. During these lessons, I used ESL games, songs, jokes, short stories, role-plays, news stories, online information, course materials, and self made materials, such as work sheets, and hand outs. I also delivered TOEFL and IELTS related sessions, in which I encouraged students to undertake self-motivated study. Other responsibilities included expanding the school's portfolio of teaching resources, course administration, progress reporting and, designing and administering tests. Employer: February, 2012 - September, 2012 ESL Academy Yuyao The teaching sessions that I planned and deliveredincluded grammar lessons, functional lessons, young adult chat classes, general/ business English lessons for adults, one to one tuition for students of all ages (some of whom wished to take IELTS tests), and lessons for young learners. The school'scommunicative teaching methods afforded me the opportunity to pratise using ESL role plays, activities and games in order to teach grammar, improve students’ spelling and stimulate interest. I strove to improve my students’ability to express themselves through writing and speaking by workingon overarching principals such as the correct use of tenses and instruction regarding the interrelationships of parts of speech. Since 2006 I have harboured ambitions to become a TEFL teacher and, despite setbacks caused bymajor relocation have managedto maintain my commitment to volunteerism. In September 2008, involvement within the voluntary sector led to my enrolling upon the Degree which eventually enabled me to gain a Cambridge University approved CELTA qualification. The CELTA course taught me how to plan and execute a variety of English lessons, whilst being exposed to issues such as the importance of grading one’slanguage, monitoring students and, giving clear instructions.
