Listening to the students needs, explaining further, being approachable and friendly but professional too, with a calm, patient and knowledgeable approach. This explains a little about my current role. With my current students I proof read assignments, journals, essays, and dissertations advising closely on sentance flow, structure, readability and style.
I have checked work for spelling and grammar issues. I have assisted in editing documents, producing powerpoint presentations and checking scripts. I aided students with research, drafting assignments, planning and structuring written work and how to analyse, argue and write critically.
My role involved helping students to critically analyse essays, written academic research, novels, novellas, plays, childrens picture books and literature. Encouraging, motivating and guiding students to apply their knowledge. I also supported with Harvard referencing techniques.
The position comprised of Note taking in lectures relating to Childrens Literature, Gothic, Renaisance Drama, Ambivalent Intamacies and other areas. Assisting students with meals and limited personal care. Booking learning support rooms, attending meetings with lecturers and other academic staff. Typing essays, dissertations, and Journals. Listening to various lectures from multi-disciplinary backgrounds and taking extensive, clear, conscise notes from complex material. I expect both students to graduate with honors degrees.
