This really toughened me up and taught me how to survive that crazy world. Secondly, it showed me that integrity is key in any business or company as it creates a firm bond between a businessman and their customers. A customer eventually gets attached to a client and it grows into a long-term business relationship. In May 2013, I worked at Media Plus, Kampala Serena Hotel, which is the first media company in Uganda that mainly makes documentaries about nearly everything going on in the country. Along with my mentor and boss at the time, Mr. Bart Kakooza, I visited several factories, markets, government conferences and interviewed many people on the different issues like corruption and homosexuality which is a big issue in Uganda. This really widened my knowledge scope and taught me how to relate with people of different cultures and backgrounds. It also showed me the essence of teamwork, patience, humility and respect for one another. Lastly, it taught me to love what you do. When you enjoy doing what you do, you perform better and do tasks to the best of your ability, just like I did because I loved what I was doing.
