Anhui University of Finance and Economics September 2014 - present
I am currently teaching undergraduate English and International Business majors, and my
main duties are helping them to develop their spoken fluency as well as to deal with the
language in business situations. I am in charge of the curriculum development and
changing what I have to fit the needs of the students.
ECC Chiang mai March 2013 to August 2013
I worked as an EFL instructor at one of the biggest English language chains in Thailand,
teaching General English classes to college-level students whose level of English ranged
from Pre-Intermediate to Upper-Intermediate. The design of most classes at ECC was
loosely based on CELTA methodologies, and it was aimed at developing critical thinking
and problem solving skills in the students through the use of communicative tasks.
Tutor ABC (online) March 2014 to September 2014
As an online 'language consultant' with TutorABC, my job was to adapt and expand on
the material that was provided for me to suit my students' learning styles, wants and
needs. My main job duties included keeping students engaged while allowing equal talking
time for each individual student to practice their speaking. Classes were typically small
(no more than 6 students per session) and the clients were mostly business professionals
and/or university students.
Oxford college MITA Foligno October 2013 to January 2014
I worked at a private language school in my hometown in a part-time capacity for 4
months, teaching adult learners Conversational English and Exam preparation.
ABC Dragons October 2012 to September 2013
I worked as an EFL instructor at a private language institute in Kunming, China, for one
year. My main duties included teaching conversational English, writing and phonics to
young kids and teenagers. The lesson planning and the teaching methodology, albeit
somehow at variance with the student-centered approach typical of the CELTA, were
informed by up-to-date research findings in Second Language Acquisition and proved to
be very effective in more than one occasion.
Kunming Language Resources Institute March 2013 to September 2013
During my time in Kunming, I was also employed in a part-time capacity at another
language institute. My main duties were teaching conversational English and grammar to
young learners and kindergarteners.
