Dec – Jan 2013 Dunnes Stores, Eyre Square, Galway 

Sales Assistant

· Duties included serving customers, stock work and making the shop look aesthetically pleasing.

May – July 2013 Loco Cinema & Leisure, 

Head of Ushering, Maintenance & Cashier

· Cleaning screens after movies, taking tickets and directing people to screens, security, ensuring the bathrooms and halls were clean, changing the cylinders for drinks and gas, maintenance, locking the premises at night, turning on/off the sound and 3D projectors.  Ensure that the movie starts on time, the picture is clear and the sound is working correctly.  

· In addition to those ushering duties, my responsibilities as head usher included recruitment and training, constantly monitoring the efficiency of my team’s work and ensuring every employee in the building was recycling correctly.  

· I also worked on the tills (cinema and coffee dock) where I learned valuable lessons about sales and efficiently helping customers.

May - Dec 2012               Convent primary school, Roscommon town.

                                           Student on placement: observation and assistance. 

· I observed practice and helped a child who needed one-to-one who wasn’t granted a special needs assistant (under teacher supervision). I also organised soccer for a group of seven year olds at lunch time and helped the Gaelic coaches once a week after school. Sometimes I assisted the teacher with activities such as art and hand-writing but always under teacher supervision. I established a positive rapport with children and was an excellent role model. My skills were vastly improved, I gained exceptional experience and my enthusiasm for working as a teacher was further enhanced.

May 2012-Jan 2013       Flix cinema and leisure, Roscommon.

                                          Usher, cashier, maintenance casino, bowling and waterballs.

· Aside from the ushering duties and being on concession in Loco, at Flix I set up the bowling, put people into the waterballs and worked in the casino on my own. In the casino I ensured that the customers were satisfied by offering free food\drink, dealt with pay-outs, ensured that the balance was correct at the end of the night, storing the money safely, locking the door, security and repairing machines.

May 2011- May 2013     Roscommon.

                                           Tutor. 

· Responsibilities included helping a young boy who was not fluent in English with his homework, areas of difficulty and conducting exams with him.

2009 - 2011                      Roscommon People Newspaper.

                                           Clerical officer and journalist.

· My duties included typing, photocopying, responding to queries from the public at the reception or on the phone, filing, placing the weekly newspaper online, organising the layout of the newspaper, making tea\coffee and conducting research. I also wrote articles for the newspaper.

· Collecting and washing glasses during and after functions. Taking orders and bringing food to the customers.

2005 – 2010                      Abbey community college, Boyle, Co. Roscommon, Ireland. 

· Match reports - Author of articles for the county newspapers.

· Bus prefect - monitored the student’s behaviour on the journey to and from school in order to ensure that they adhered to the health and safety regulations.

· School Rental Scheme - covering books and assigning the appropriate books to a basket for each pupil.
