Recent Employment History November 2014-December 2016 Ainslie Cellars: Canberra, Australia Worked as shop assistant and wine expert, running a variety of International wine tastings during completion of University degree.
January 2014-November 2014 Two 4 Joy Café and Restaurant: Canberra, Australia Worked as a waiter and barista in busy local café during University degree.
May 2013– December 2013 Vineyard Methodist School: Chiang Mai, Thailand Taught English as a second language to children in Primary School. Demonstrated leadership and adaptability to a variety of situations. Responsible for administrative tasks ; filing grades and reports, , written communication with parents ,and written minutes of weekly teachers’ meetings. Letter of Reference available on request.
March 2013–Fangchanupathum School: Fang, Thailand Worked as a trainer for the ASEAN English Summer Camp 2013, giving lessons for 5 hours a day for a three week English camp. This improved my ability to deal with large class sizes (25-35) as well as my confidence in front of large groups of students.
August 2012-December 2012 – ACTTAB: Canberra, Australia Worked front of house in government agency. Gained customer service experience and confidence in accurately handling money in a demanding and busy environment.
August 2011-January 2012 – Travel to Teach: Luang Prabang, Laos and Phnom Penh, Cambodia Volunteered for the organisation Travel to Teach, teaching English to novice monks in three temples, and also tutoring students at the Santipad Library in Luang Prabang. Later continued to teach English, as well as swimming lessons in Childrens House Montessori School in Phnom Penh. Improved confidence, teaching skills, speaking ability, organizational skills, lesson planning and ability to adapt to class size.
Education Bachelor of International Security Studies 2016, Australian National University, Canberra Major in Asia-Pacific Security, Minor in French Language. Graduated with distinction. UniTefl Certification/TESOL International Certification 120 Hour Course 2013, UniTefl Chiang Mai Communicative Language Teaching, Teaching Methodology, Lesson Preparation, Classroom Management, Phonology, Grammar and Practicum. Teaching Practicum at local schools in Chiang Mai (Buak Khrok Noi School, Thasatoi School and Sriping Muang School) with P6-M3 students. Developed, designed and delivered lesson plans with materials. Able to adapt to varied levels of learning. Ability to relate and engage with students along with a strong understanding of classroom dynamics.
