Visiting Professor in Egyptology
As visiting professor in Egyptology I am responsible for teaching a number of language
courses, as well as a general module on Egyptian Civilisation, and one on archaeology. I have
also taught a beginners English course and an IELTS preparation module.

MA in Egyptology: external exam moderator for language module (Ancient Egyptian, Course

2008 – 2011 Swansea University: Fixed Term Lectureship in Egyptology
I was appointed for three consecutive years to a one-year fixed term lecturership in
Egyptology. During my tenure I designed courses, developed teaching methodologies, and
delivered lectures on various Egyptological topics. I supervised a number of Undergraduate
and Master’s dissertations, co-supervised a PhD thesis, as well as set and marked university
examinations, and interviewed prospective Undergraduates.
2005 – 2006 Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Oxford: Fixed Term Lectureship in Egyptology
Planned courses and delivered lectures and tutorial classes for Undergraduate, Master’s and
Doctoral students. Interviewed prospective Undergraduates for college and faculty, set and
marked university examinations.
2002 – 2008 Faculty of Oriental Studies and Faculty of Theology (Oxford University), The
Washington International Studies Council (Oxford), Reading University
Provided individual tuition in Egyptian history, religion and language for The Washington
International Studies Council, Faculty of Oriental Studies and Faculty of Theology in Oxford.
Organised and taught a 10-week course in Egyptology for mature students at Reading
University.

As main organiser and promoter of this event, which attracted over 100 speakers and audience
